Message from Dean, Cristina Amon

Over the years, our Faculty has distinguished itself as a leader in Engineering education. A vital part of this leadership are our professors who have written and contributed to the Engineering texts that have shaped and inspired current and future generations of Engineers around the globe. In honour of these extraordinary contributions, I invite you to commemorate Engineering textbook authors and unveil our new recognition wall at the Celebrating Engineering Education event on Sept. 29, 2008.  We will be also honouring co-authors Sedra and Smith whose Microelectronic Circuits engineering textbook has reached a spectacular milestone of one million copies. Translated into 9 languages, it is the world’s bestselling textbook of its kind and remains a seminal book to scores of young engineers. It is my hope that you will join us for this opportunity to celebrate our professors’ remarkable contributions to Engineering education.

The beginning of the school year is a busy and exciting time for faculty and students; it is a time of transition and renewal for staff as well. Our heartiest congratulations to those faculty members who recently received promotions. We are also pleased to welcome a number of new administrative staff to our Engineering community and announce that Lisa Simpson-Camilleri has been appointed Assistant Dean, Academic HR and Diversity ….
