NSERC Success Congratulations to our successful applicants for NSERC Discovery and Research Tools and Instruments (RTI) grants. The Faculty received 54 Discovery Grant applications, a 90% success rate, with a total of $1,558,927 awarded. The Faculty also received 16 NSERC RTI grants with a total value of $1,269,281. This academic year has been an extremely successful one for the Faculty; our researchers have received many honours, awards, and significant grants in recognition of their outstanding contributions. Please join us on Thursday, June 12, from 5:00 - 7:00 pm, in the Debates Room at Hart House, as we celebrate a successful academic year and honour the achievements of our faculty. Funding Opportunity for Cooperation with Norwegian Universities As part of a new strategy for cooperation between Norway and North America, the Norwegian Ministry for Education and Research recently announced a call for partnerships for higher education collaboration between Norwegian and Canadian universities through the SIU (the Norwegian Centre for International Cooperation in Higher Education). The program covers all academic disciplines and provides support for: mobility of faculty and students; development of common modules; curricula; joint degrees; setting up summer schools; etc. While it must be the Norwegian institutions that apply for the funding, the money can be spent in both countries. A statement from the Canadian partner is required for the application, so if this program is of interest to you, please contact your Norwegian partner and explore this possibility.
