Raymond and Beverly Sackler Prize in Biophysics

The Raymond and Beverly Sackler Prize in Biophysics is an international prize that has been established through the generosity of Dr. Raymond and Mrs. Beverly Sackler. The prize is intended to encourage dedication to science, originality and excellence by rewarding outstanding young scientists of age 45 or younger. An amount of U.S. $50,000 will be presented.

Michael Smith Awards for Science Promotion
Deadline: September 1, 2008
The Michael Smith Awards honour individuals and groups who make an outstanding contribution to the promotion of science in Canada, through activities encouraging popular interest or developing science abilities. Up to five awards will be available each year.

The achievements of individual and group recipients of the Michael Smith Awards will be celebrated at a special ceremony. Each individual winner will receive a personal award of $5,000. Winning organizations will be awarded $10,000 to further science promotion activities. The winners will as well receive a medal bearing Dr. Smith's likeness and a framed citation.
