What Makes PEY Unique? Q&A With Vice-Dean Undergraduate Studies Grant Allen | |
Since the PEY Internship Program is within the Vice-Dean Undergraduate Studies portfolio, Grant Allen knows our Professional Experience Year Internship Program (PEY) is not only the oldest and largest in Canada, but also the best. Why? The Engineering Newsletter caught up with Professor Allen to get his view of what makes our PEY Internship Program so extraordinary.
What makes our PEY Internship Program unique? PEY stands out for three key reasons:
How do employers regard PEY? Our program is very highly regarded by our employer because of the quality of our students and the program. In this way, the program 'sells itself' to industry. What is an important key message that all Engineering staff, faculty and friends can communicate about our PEY Internship Program? We need to continue to get the word out to the public that U of T Engineering is 'the' place to go for students who want the opportunity to gain engineering work experience while they do their engineering education and then get an excellent start on their careers upon graduation. The more people learn about the program, and its participation rate is among more than half of our students, the more they'll like.
