Director of the Photovoltaics Research Program

Lukasz began Sept. 3, 2008 and plays a leadership role in managing an optoelectronic materials research and laboratory, and also plays a key role in formulating and executing an experimental low-cost large-area solution processed solar cells project. Lukasz received the Governor General’s Gold Medal for the best applied PhD from U of T in 2002-2003 for his work on semiconductor, optical, and nanostructure optical devices. He spent several years in industry holding middle management positions in the development, marketing, legal, and regulatory departments at a Canadian medical device/pharmaceutical start-up company Novadaq Technologies Inc. Prior to joining Professor Ted Sargent’s team, he held the position of Manager, Project Management at MDS Pharma Services, Global Central Lab and Centralized Cardiac Services.
Manuchehr Ebrahimi
Research Associate (Engineering)

Working with Dr. Robert Zee, Manuchehr's major areas of responsibility include Research and Design on Microsatellites and Nanosatelites for different applications. This includes the design, integration and full cycle of the tests. Manuchehr has broad experience in electronic design, with over 14 years in all level of design (system level, board level and integrated circuit design) and have formal train on QS9000 (APQP and FMEA) and strategic management.
Teresa Simm
Senior Development Officer, Major Gifts
Office of Advancement
Teresa will be working with Department Chairs, faculty and senior volunteers, she will develop strategies for securing major gifts ($100,000 or higher) in the support of Departmental advancement priorities. Teresa previously worked at the Royal Conservatory of Music where she managed the inception and development of a new advisory and philanthropic body targeted at prospects and donors at the $1M+ level. Teresa has also taught Theatre and Film courses at McMaster, York and U of T, and has a PhD in Theatre History.
Daniel Unruh

Daniel joined the Office is Advancement
Nov. 17, 2008. Daniel was most recently with Sick Kids Foundation as a Senior Development Officer, Major Gifts and before that role, he was part of the Royal Conservatory of Music Capital Campaign, where he served as Director of Development Operations. In his new role as Associate Director of Development, Daniel will be responsible for implementing and managing the development program, with particular focus on major gifts.
