A Message from Dean Cristina Amon

Students at U of T Engineering can look forward to promising futures, as you, our over 40,000 global alumni network, prove time and again. Many of you hold leadership positions in engineering finance, law, healthcare, business, urban development, academia, advanced research and countless other industries and pursuits.

The stories in this E-newsletter issue show how you are using your creativity and innovation to pursue excellence in your chosen careers. We most recently honoured nine outstanding alumni for their career and humanitarian achievements. Their stories are truly inspirational. And these are just a few of many more stories of U of T Engineers making a difference around the world.

In October, I had the pleasure to meet with over 100 alumni in Singapore and Hong Kong. It was heart-warming to see the vibrancy of our international Skule™ community and the enthusiasm with which they embrace our Faculty. To our alumni in these cities, thank you for your hospitality. I look forward to returning soon. We will build on the foundations of this first visit to explore collaborations and partnerships with international academic institutions, industry and friends.

You, our alumni, demonstrate that with an engineering degree from U of T, our graduates can access a myriad of career choices. As our students contemplate their own futures, I know that they will look to you for examples on how they will positively contribute to our global society. And like you, they will make their mark.

Cristina Amon
Dean
