A Message from Dean Cristina AmonLast autumn, we launched our component of the Boundless Campaign and announced our ambitious fundraising goal of $200-million. Our Campaign will harness the creativity of faculty, students and alumni to firmly establish U of T Engineering as one of the world’s leading institutions in engineering research, teaching and innovation. Through the generous support of our alumni, faculty, staff, and students we will be able to provide the resources and facilities needed to excel, and to create innovations that will address some of the world’s most pressing challenges. Our case for support outlines the specific opportunities created to invest in human capital, education, research and infrastructure. In particular, a cornerstone of our Campaign is the Centre for Engineering Innovation & Entrepreneurship (CEIE), a new building that will foster collaborative learning and interdisciplinary research. I am pleased to announce that we have crossed the $100-million mark towards our $200-million goal and secured more than $50-million for the CEIE, including gifts from donors around the world and here at home. Our very own undergraduate Engineering Society has committed $1-million towards the building. In addition, our alumni groups in Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia have established fundraising committees with a goal of raising $5-million. Our Skule spirit is high. In addition to our Faculty goals, each department and institute has established its own priorities for giving. I encourage you to support the priority area that inspires you most. Thank you for your continued commitment to fostering innovation and excellence within our Faculty. *Schematic design of the Centre for Engineering Innovation & Entrepreneurship.
