A Message from Dean Cristina AmonIn our last issue, we reflected on our progress in the past year through the 2011 Annual Report. In this issue, we chart a path forward through the Academic Plan for 2011-2016. The plan is a living document which will guide our work for the next five years, as we continue to advance engineering excellence. We have worked vigorously together in the past two years to frame the Faculty's pursuits. And now, this vision will come to life through all of us, our committed faculty, staff, students and alumni. The Academic Plan articulates the direction in which our Faculty is heading, our academic and administrative goals, within the context of U of T's Towards 2030. Together, we aspire to strengthen our culture of excellence, our influence, our educational and research mission. As we embark on our plans for the future of our Faculty, I would like to acknowledge and congratulate 315 of our outstanding new alumni, who received their degrees at convocation this month – they will make us, and the world, proud. |
