A Message from Dean Cristina Amon

It is my pleasure to present our third annual report which outlines our initiatives and programs developed in 2010-2011, rigorously tracks our performance metrics and helps us measure progress in our unwavering pursuit of excellence.

The release of the report coincides with the approval of our Academic Plan for 2011-2016, which will be posted online in the coming weeks. The plan is the result of two years of thorough consultation and strategic planning. It summarizes our academic and related administrative aspirations for the next five years. Together we will work to achieve our goals which include strengthening a research-intensive culture and heightening excellence in student experience, among other key priorities.

We continue to seek opportunities to improve as a Faculty through dialogue with faculty members and students alike. Examples this month include a successful and informative Dean's Student Town Hall meeting and our first Faculty Council Meeting of the academic year.

On behalf of the Faculty, I also extend a warm welcome to our remarkable new faculty members.

It also provides a quarterly opportunity for the members of the Faculty to assemble as a body. Visit the Faculty Council web page for the Faculty's Constitution, by-laws and past meeting documents.
