Since graduating from U of T, Hank spent almost 50 years of his professional career with MMM Group Limited (formerly Marshall Macklin Monaghan Limited), a world-renowned engineering firm where he established himself as an expert in project and design management of airports. His career progression has been steady and fruitful: project management (1982-1987), airports and project management (1987-2007), executive director of MGP, project management consultant for the Pearson Airport Development Program (1997-2004), and now senior airports advisor (2005-Present). His engineering, managerial, leadership, and team building skills helped MMM become a world leader in all aspects of airport development from conceptual design to implementation of the largest airports around the globe. Under his design management, MMM received an Award of Excellence from the Association of Consulting Engineers of Canada for the $550 million Terminal Three project at Pearson International Airport. Hank is also well known and respected internationally as a design and construction project manager for his work in Abu Dhabi, Barbados, China, Colombia, Hungary, Kuwait, Myanmar, Oman, Palestine, Puerto Rico, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, USA, Vietnam, Ecuador, India, and Thailand. During his career, Hank also served on the Board of Directors of the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre from 1966 to 1974, as well as the Toronto branch of the Engineering Institute of Canada (EIC) and the Association of Professional Engineers Ontario Appeal Board in the 1970s. Since 1995, Hank has been a Warden of Camp 1 and has served as vice chair on the Camp Executive Committee over the past seven years. Other accomplishments include:
Engineering Alumni Medal The Engineering Alumni Medal is the highest honour awarded by the Engineering Alumni Association. High achievement is the common thread that links past recipients of this medal. In their diverse careers, these individuals have demonstrated superior accomplishments and have responded with fl air and excellence to challenges. They serve as outstanding role models for Engineering students. |
