7T6 Early Career Award | Steve Dennis | CivE 9T9

Steve Dennis

Steve Dennis is a civil engineer who sought an unconventional, inspiring and productive engineering career path.

Before Steve even started undergraduate studies in Civil Engineering at U of T, he was actively involved in the Toronto Brigantine Incorporate Sail Training program where he mentored and worked with teenagers.

A curiosity to dig deeper into the troubles and complexities of the world drove Steve to look beyond the surface for an understanding of the world and its people. This desire led him to join the humanitarian medical organization Doctors without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières – MSF). With MSF, he has worked on various basic health care programs in Sri Lanka, South Sudan, Somalia, Ivory Coast, Chad, and Kenya. Through correspondence from the field and in the media, he strives to increase awareness of the world outside our borders.
